Good news — CoreXchange has achieved audit compliance with the AICPA’s Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16, SOC-1 Type II. We’ll explain:
Basically, the SSAE Standard is a rigorous set of standards mantained by the AICPA (less commonly known as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) — a 125-year-old nationwide network of CPAs who act as a sort of army determined to enforce quality control in many American businesses. The standard’s goal is to ensure that companies like ours can do what we tell customers we can do. Here at CoreXChange, we’re not interested in meeting the SSAE Standard — we’re determined to exceed the standard and improve colocation services in Dallas in every possible way.
Let us brag for a second. We invited outside auditors to come in, make themselves at home for several months (more specifically, from April 1, 2011 to September 30, 2011), and roam around our Dallas data centers with a magnifying glass and conduct a thorough review of all of our operations and processes. This included examinations of:
And just as we expected, the auditors gave us the stamp of approval and confirmed that we’ve met or exceeded all SSAE 16 standard requirements. According to Peter Pathos, our chairman:
“CoreXchange customers demand enterprise-class reliability and security. Achieving SSAE 16 SOC-1 Type II compliance is another level of assurance for our customers that CoreXchange data center facilities operate at the highest level of verified operational controls, procedures, and processes.”
The benefits for our customers are pretty obvious — reliability, quality control, security, peace of mind, etc. — all the elements, in other words, that our customers need to maintain robust, profitable business operations. The compliance itself will also make it easier for CoreXchange customers to conduct their own internal and third party audits (including those conducted under PCI, HIPAA or SEC standards).
Altogether, compliance improves access to our industry-leading colocation solutions such as high performance network connectivity, Internet access, Dallas disaster recovery, and our business continuity center. Contact us for more information.
