Leadership Team
CoreXchange has assembled a world class management team with extensive experience in founding and growing successful companies in the IT services, network technology and professional services arenas. It is this breadth and depth of experience that enables us to deliver world class solutions and services to our customers.
Michael Walti - Michael has over 13 years of experience in the telecommunications and computer industry as a senior technologist and business professional. He has served as a founding principal of Ascend Partners, an investment banking firm focused on strategic advisory services for established technology companies. Previously, Michael was director of telecommunications and special projects for NTT/Verio, where he directed the consolidation of operations, networks and systems of 50 private ISP acquisitions. He also had responsibility for NTT/Verio's metro aggregation networks. Michael was also a founder and director for OnRamp Technologies, a regional ISP, where he headed the network design, procurement, implementation and operation of its IP network. Previously, Michael developed embedded hardware and software systems architecture for several telecommunications and government laboratories including Harris Controls and the Department of Energy's Superconducting Supercollider High Energy Physics Laboratory in Dallas Texas. Michael graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering.
Robert Leptich - Bob has over 20 years of experience in the computer and telecommunications industry and has spent the last 11 years specializing in mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining CoreXchange, Bob was co-founder of Ascend Partners, where he assisted clients with buy-side mergers and acquisitions, as well as debt financing. Previously, as vice president for NTT/Verio, Bob was responsible for the consolidation of engineering, operations and infrastructure of over 50 acquisitions, as well as ongoing oversight of infrastructure engineering, vendor relationships throughout the U.S. and the global Network Operations Center. He has also held several key positions in other start-ups later acquired by Cisco Systems and Exodus. Bob holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and a Master's degree from Oakland University.
Julia Morgan - Julia brings almost a decade of hosting and IT communications experience with expertise in business development including sales, sales management, marketing and product development. Most recently, Julia developed her own consulting company, Connection Select Corporation, where she was successful in saving her clients millions of dollars and expedited their time to market by leveraging her knowledge and resources in the market. She brokered technology solutions in the areas of data center development, colocation, managed servers, hardware procurement, professional services, connectivity, disaster recovery and RFP creation and management. Previously, as vice president for The Planet, Julia oversaw all Sales and Marketing functions including Enterprise Colocation and Dedicated Server Sales, advertising, promotion and reseller alliances. She was successful in growing sales from $4M to $60M by generating revenue from new customer acquisitions, existing accounts, VARS and referral partnerships with established technology leaders. Julia was instrumental in the development of new product lines and ancillary services, which ultimately sustained customer loyalty. Prior to joining The Planet, Julia was the top producer of revenue for the region at Verado Holdings, Inc., a National provider of colocation, managed service solutions and communications services. Julia also held a sales and marketing position at Chancellor Marketing Group (now Clear Channel Communications). She holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas.
Peter Pathos - Peter has over 17 years of experience in the network services space, primarily as a founder of two highly successful service providers. He was the founding chairman and CEO of The Planet, a leading web hosting provider that was recently acquired by a Menlo Park-based private equity firm, GI Partners. Previously, Peter founded National Knowledge Networks, Inc., a regional Internet service provider that he grew from a start-up company into a venture with $5 million in revenues in less than three years. In 1998, the company was among the first to be acquired by Verio and was part of a landmark IPO and subsequent sale to NTT in October 2000. Prior to founding National Knowledge Networks, Peter was a chief telecommunications and data communications engineer with GTE. He holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Institute of Technology.
George Poletes - George was senior vice president and general counsel of The Planet. He brings 13 years of corporate development and in-house legal experience in the network services industry, where he has significant experience working with high-growth technology companies. He previously held in-house legal and corporate development positions at Onramp Technologies and later at Verio, where he helped manage the merger of the two companies and the initial public offering of Verio in April 1998. Mr. Poletes received a B.A. from the University of Texas and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.
Ed Kramer - Ed has more than 24 years experience in the network services and telecommunications industry. He joined CoreXchange from Ascend Partners, where he served as managing director and co-founder, advising companies in the networking space on mergers and acquisitions activities and financing strategies. Ed previously was the founder of Global Network Solutions, a professional services company that merged with OpSource, Inc. He also served in senior management roles with Global Network Solutions, Cable and Wireless, Exodus Communications, and Global Internet/Cohesive Systems. Ed holds a BS degree in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University and a MBA from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.
Chris Turbeville - Chris, an ISP and networking industry veteran, has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Information Technology & Networking. Most recently, Chris served as vice president of network engineering for The Planet, overseeing the implementation of a 100 gigabit network infrastructure. He previously managed Verio’s national IT network and security infrastructure. Chris served in critical IT and network engineering leadership roles since Verio’s inception, having joined the company after its foundational acquisition of OnRamp Technologies in 1995. At OnRamp, Chris played a major role in growing OnRamp from a start-up in the early days of commercial ISPs to a nationally-recognized networking industry leader. He obtained an undergraduate in mathematics and a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Texas at Arlington.
